How does it work?

At 9yards our aim is to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in Northern Ireland at a low cost, through a network of Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs).

To arrange your EPC simply ‘phone us on 02893 365999 and have the following information on hand:

1. The type/size of your house. This is important when assessing the energy performance of a house.
2. Your contact details (name, address, telephone number & email address). This information is used by us, and our Northern Ireland DEAs  to communicate with you on any matter relating to the progress of your order.
3. We currently require payment by BACS, cash or cheque prior to undertaking your survey but will soon be able to offer secure online payment by Paypal.
4. You will receive an email confirming your order.
5. Within 24-48 hours of receipt of your order a DEA will call you on the telephone number you provided to arrange a date for your survey.
6. When the energy surveyor arrives please ask for their DEA ID. The assessment is limited only to a visual inspection of the property during which the energy surveyor will take note only of certain aspects of the property related to energy performance. An energy survey usually lasts 30-40 minutes.
7. Within 48-72 hours the DEA should email you a copy of your energy performance certificate to the email address you have given us. We are protecting the environment so we do not encourage our DEAs to issue paper reports. You can print your epc for your records or forward it to your estate agent by email. When selling your property you will be required by law to produce this copy to a potential buyer.
